Marco Oggian's work is easy to spot: bright colours, strong shapes and a cast of cheeky characters. This guide explains what makes his style tick, then walks through the pieces he has designed for Qeeboo, from carpets and poufs to cushions and vases, with ideas for using them at home.
Who is Marco Oggian?
Originally from Italy and based in Barcelona, Marco Oggian is a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans illustration, graphic design and animation. He draws on pop culture, street art and everyday life, and his pieces have a sense of humour that never takes itself too seriously.
Three things run through almost everything he makes:
- Fearless colour – vivid primaries and unexpected combinations.
- Strong geometry – circles, blocks and bold outlines that read clearly from across a room.
- Characters – monsters, creatures, faces and animals with plenty of mischief.
That graphic clarity is exactly why his designs translate so well into furniture and homeware. You can browse everything together in our Marco Oggian collection.
Carpets: start with the floor
Qeeboo has built a whole family of carpets with Oggian, all defined by bright colours and strong geometries. A rug is the easiest way to bring his style into a room, because it sets the colour story for everything else.
The Oggian Rectangular Carpet suits a living room, where it can anchor a sofa and coffee table. If your space is more open, the Oggian Round Carpet softens all the straight lines of furniture and walls and works well under a small table or in a reading corner.
The shaped designs are where the fun really starts. The Oggian Carpet M and Oggian Carpet L let you size up to suit the room, while the Oggian M Shaped Carpet is a smaller version that keeps the playful animal shapes, ideal for a bedroom, hallway or child's room.
A practical tip: let the carpet be the loudest thing on the floor. Keep the sofa or bed in a plain colour and pull one shade from the rug into a throw or lampshade so the room feels planned rather than busy.
Poufs: seating with a sense of humour
Oggian's poufs are covered in playful patterns all the way round, so they look good from every angle – useful for a piece that tends to move about.
- The Oggian Pouf S has a "SIT HERE" sign on top, which makes it an instant conversation starter.
- The Oggian Pouf M measures 65 x 65 x 40cm and weighs 6kg, a handy extra seat or footrest.
- The Oggian Pouf L is lower and wider at 80 x 80 x 35cm, more like a floor cushion for lounging.
All are made from polyurethane with a polyester fabric cover. Try a pair of different sizes together in a family room, or a single pouf as a pop of colour in an otherwise calm scheme.
Cushions and vases: smaller ways in
Not ready for a statement rug? Start small. The Oggian Cushion Cover carries the recurring monsters, creatures and geometric shapes from his graphics. It measures 45 x 45cm, is made from acrylic fabric and comes unfilled, so you can choose your own inner. Mix one or two with plain cushions on a neutral sofa or bed.
The ceramic Vase by Marco Oggian range features animal, human and plant-shaped figures in vivid primary colours. Designs such as Beautiful Face and Giuggiolo measure 28 x 8 x 30cm. Together they form what Qeeboo describes as a figurative landscape, so they look especially good grouped along a shelf or sideboard.
For walls, the Clock by Marco Oggian brings friendly characters such as Black Cat, Magic Samu and Joe Quack to a kitchen or child's room, with a 40cm diameter.
How to style Oggian pieces together
Because every piece shares the same visual language, they mix easily. A few pointers:
- Pick one hero piece per room – usually a carpet – and let smaller items echo it.
- Repeat a colour at least twice so it feels intentional.
- Balance pattern with plain surfaces: white walls, simple wood or a solid-coloured sofa give the designs room to breathe.
Oggian's work sits within Qeeboo's wider world of playful design, so explore the full Qeeboo range for more pieces in the same spirit. If you would like help choosing sizes or colours, visit our shop in Somerset or get in touch with the team for advice.
