Sanderson x Giles Deacon 'Mydsommer Pickings - Linen/Chalk' Fabric

From his renowned walnut ink illustration, Mydsommer Pickings is a direct translation of Giles's botanical drawings, depicting embroidered pomegranates and poppyheads on a linen ground. The pattern is repeated to create an all over design and encompasses a plethora of stitching techniques, layered to intensify the depth and luxury of this embroidered fabric. An apothecary of medieval delights appears in this curling tendril design, which unfurls before your eyes. Referencing historic hand embroidery, the linen base enhances the lavish stitching, which is free-flowing and organic yet dramatic in equal measure, and loosely based on drawings of Chelsea Physic Garden.

ABOUT SANDERSON

Since 1860, Sanderson has encapsulated quintessential British design. Lending its iconic florals and timeless weaves to all kinds of homes across the nation.

The oldest brand in the Sanderson arsenal, from where they derive the namesake of their group, begun life in 1860, as an importer of fine French wallpapers to London. Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd played a pivotal role in defining English interior decoration tastes and its early success led to displaying designs at London’s finest showroom, at Berners Street. Around this time in 1924, Arthur Sanderson & Sons Ltd were awarded The Royal Warrant, becoming “purveyors of wallpaper and paint” to the court of George V.
