The Kurbis Lampshade presents a charming twist on the classic rice paper lantern. Crafted from characteristically rich Washi paper, Kurbis deviates from the traditional round shape, instead embracing an organic and asymmetric silhouette that gives it a distinctive and unique look. Inspired by the pumpkin and squash family, the rice paper lampshade emanates a soft and gentle light that adds ambiance and charm to any room.

The brand was conceived in Copenhagen in the home of Trinie with wallpaper, or rather, a lack of it… In 2005, Trinie had just moved into a house with her husband, and just couldn’t seem to find a wallpaper that fit our taste. She therefore decided to make her own, which resulted in ten different wallpaper designs.
After applying to exhibit them at a trade fair in Denmark Trinie couldn’t afford to manufacture all ten designs, so armed with just one wallpaper and a handful of printouts ferm LIVING was created.
