Beware, Alan Francis Vigers's upbeat, jolly 1901 design has a somewhat sinister undertone. So named because its head resembles the rounded shape of a monk's habit, this plant is also referred to as wolfsbane, recalling its use as a toxic poison used to coat arrows fired at marauding wolves in Classical times. This plant, as treacherous as it is beautiful, is charmingly rendered by Vigers with innocuous innocence.
Available in three colourways: Cobalt & Goblin Green, Aqua & Peashoot, Tangerine & Sage
The Bedford Park collection brings together an inner circle of towering creative talents; heroes of British design. The work of William Morris, C.F.A. Voysey, Allan Francis Vigers and J.H. Dearle sets the visual scene for this collection of fabrics and wallpapers. Recoloured in shades of punk and flower power, this is a colour-rich Morris & Co. as you’ve never seen it before.

As a political theorist, publisher, environmental campaigner, poet, as well as an outstanding designer, William Morris (1834–1896) was one of the single most influential figures of the nineteenth century. Under his direction Morris & Co. grew to the status of Arts & Crafts icon that it remains to this day.
Morris, Marshall, Faulkner & Co. (1861–1875) was a furnishings and decorative arts manufacturer and retailer founded by the artist and designer William Morris with friends from the Pre-Raphaelites. With its successor Morris & Co. (1875–1940) the firm's medieval-inspired aesthetic and respect for hand-craftsmanship and traditional textile arts had a profound influence on the decoration of churches and houses into the early 20th century.
Although its most influential period was during the flourishing of the Arts and Crafts Movement in the 1880s and 1890s, Morris & Co. remained in operation in a limited fashion from World War I until its closure in 1940. The firm's designs are still sold today under licences given to Sanderson & Sons.

Most of our wallpapers are standard sizes, measuring approximately 52 cm (21 inches) in width and 10 m (11 yards) in length. These are often referred to as Metric single rolls or bolts and are double the length of a standard American single roll. However, some wallpapers may vary, with wider widths or shorter lengths. Please check the specific dimensions of your chosen wallpaper before ordering. If you have any questions, our customer service team is happy to help.
Wallpaper is printed on rollers, which creates a repeating pattern. On plain or striped wallpapers, the repeat may not matter, but for patterned designs, it’s important to understand the repeat type.
If you’re unsure about pattern repeats or how they may affect your project, contact us for guidance.
Yes, we can help match batch numbers. When placing an order, use the 'Request a Batch Number' section on the ‘Your Basket’ page to provide the exact batch details you need.
Wallpapers are printed in batches, and it’s essential to have rolls from the same batch to ensure an exact colour match. The batch number is typically printed near the pattern number on the wallpaper label. This applies to all wallpapers, including plain white ones, as shades can vary slightly between batches.
Modern wallpaper manufacturing has introduced new technologies, such as the use of polyester fibres in paper pulp. This means these wallpapers don’t expand when wet and don’t need to soak before hanging. The adhesive can be applied directly to the wall, making the process quicker and easier—ideal for beginners.
While you can still apply paste to the wallpaper in the traditional way, soaking is not necessary. Another advantage is that 'paste the wall' wallpapers are easier to remove when it’s time for a change.
We always recommend using lining paper to create a smooth base for wallpaper and to hide minor wall imperfections. This is especially useful for beginners.
Cross Lining: Hang the lining paper horizontally to create an even base for the top wallpaper.
If you’re unsure, feel free to contact us for advice on the best wallpaper for your room.
If your chosen wallpaper is out of stock, we will email you with an updated delivery date. You will also have the option to select an alternative product if the revised date is not suitable.
In some cases, there may be a delay due to the wallpaper needing to be reprinted. We will keep you informed, allowing you to decide whether to wait or choose a different option.
