White Kintsugi Vase Small - Seletti

Created by Italian designer Marcantonio, this vase is designed in this stunning style of Japanese art known as Kintsugi. Kintsugi ('golden joinery'), is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. As a philosophy, it treats breakage and repair as part of the history of an object, rather than something to disguise.

ABOUT THE DESIGNER

By creating this collection, designer Marcantonio is exploring themes like the relationship between man and nature, art and design, philosophy and the way things are. These sculptural objects, at the boundary between art and design, create a dreamlike, poetic, fantastical world.

After attending the Academy of Fine Arts, Marcantonio started creating unique pieces of design, enriching them with artistic concepts. He is quickly becoming one of the most esteemed Italian art designers of his generation. Connections between people and nature are his favourite theme, interpreting both the dynamics and beauty of them.
