An avid collector of literature volumes on the applied arts, Fornasetti used books as a recurring theme which can be found throughout the Atelier's archive. The library Trompe l'oeil scene of Ex Libris, abundant in leather-bound books, is adapted from a 1953 screen.
Founded in 1875 by John Perry, Cole & Son’s wallpaper collections represent styles across the centuries and include some of the most historic wallpaper designs in the world.
Originally situated in a wallpaper mill in Islington, North London, today Cole & Son’s factory is in Haringey, just a few miles further north of the original site.
Cole & Son have provided wallpaper for countless historic houses and institutions including Buckingham Palace in London.
