The company began by importing Persian, Turkish and Turkoman carpets before moving into textiles and acquiring the Swaisland Fabric Printing Company. In the early 1900s the brothers began building a textile archive, which GP \u0026amp; J Baker describes as the largest privately owned textile archive in the world, including more than one hundred volumes of 18th- and 19th-century pattern books. Naturalistic English garden flowers became part of the enduring GP \u0026amp; J Baker style. The company holds a Royal Warrant of Appointment to His Majesty King Charles III and produces fabrics, wallpapers and accessories for Mulberry Home under licence.
