Qeeboo Nami Outdoor Furniture: Planning a Wave-Inspired Terrace

The Qeeboo Nami collection by Stefano Giovannoni is a family of outdoor pieces that share one rippling, wave-inspired language: an armchair, a sofa, a low table, a planter and a set of carpets. This guide walks through each piece, what it does well, and how to put them together into a terrace that feels planned rather than pieced together.

The Design Idea: Waves You Can Sit On

Nami takes its cue from the movement of ocean waves. Every piece is built from soft, rounded forms, so even a single chair reads as a sculpture on a patio. Because the whole range shares that rounded, flowing look, you can start with one piece and add to it over time without anything feeling mismatched.

The furniture is made from recyclable polyethylene, and the armchair, low table and planter each come in six colours. Three are solid, uniform shades; the other three are made from recycled and mixed material, giving a blend of two or three tones in each piece. The mixed versions have a softer, speckled character, while the plain colours give a crisper outline.

The Seating: Armchair and Sofa

The Nami Armchair is made by rotating a section around a diagonal axis, which gives it a perfectly circular shape. Its mouldings unravel from the centre to the edges in a sequence of concentric rings, rather like a ripple spreading across water. There is a channel in the middle for water to run away, which is exactly what you want from a chair that lives outside through a British summer.

The Nami Sofa stretches the same idea out. It has a straight, linear centre that curves into a circle at each end, creating a soft wave-like silhouette. It seats two to three people and has two channels in the middle so rainwater drains away. It works on a terrace, beside a pool or in a contemporary interior.

A good starting arrangement is one sofa facing one or two armchairs. It gives you a proper conversation group without filling the whole space.

Tables and Planters

The Nami Low Table has a round polyethylene body with a painted glass top, so you get a smooth, wipeable surface for drinks and plates while the base keeps the rounded Nami shape. It is suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, and comes in the same six colours as the armchair.

The Nami Planter uses the same round body with a hole in the middle for plants or flowers. Placed at the end of a sofa or between two armchairs, it softens the hard edges of a patio and brings greenery right into the seating area. It is also suitable indoors, so it can sit just inside a garden room to link the two spaces.

Grounding It All with a Nami Carpet

To finish the collection, Qeeboo makes Nami Carpets in six designs: two round carpets with a 225cm radius and four oval carpets measuring 2 x 3 metres. They are made for outdoor use from recyclable polypropylene.

An outdoor rug does for a terrace what a rug does in a living room: it marks out the seating zone and makes the furniture look like a group. The Nami Oval Carpet suits a longer arrangement built around the sofa, while the Nami Round Carpet sits naturally under a pair of armchairs and a low table, echoing their circular shapes.

How to Plan a Nami Terrace

  • Measure first. Mark out the carpet size on the ground with string or tape and check that you can still walk around the edge comfortably.
  • Pick a colour approach. One uniform colour across every piece looks calm and architectural. Mixing a solid colour with one of the blended recycled finishes adds more texture and interest.
  • Build around a centre. Put the low table in the middle of the carpet, then arrange the sofa and armchairs around it so everyone can reach it.
  • Frame the edges with planters. One or two planters at the corners of the group help it feel enclosed and sheltered, especially on an open roof terrace or balcony.
  • Repeat the curves. Round pots, a curved path or circular cushions all pick up the Nami shape and tie the space together.
