Seletti Supercurve LED Mirror: Where a Lit Mirror Works Best

A mirror with its own light does two jobs at once: it shows you your reflection and it adds a glow to the room. This guide looks at how the Seletti Supercurve LED mirror works, where it earns its place in a home, from hallways and bedrooms to bathrooms, and how to style it so it looks deliberate rather than dropped in.

How the Supercurve Mirror Works

The Seletti Supercurve Mirror mixes reflective, translucent and super-coloured materials in one wall piece. The mirror has soft, subtle curves, and its bold Perspex frame hides an integrated LED strip. When it is switched on, that strip casts a warm, colourful glow through the frame, so the mirror becomes a light as well as a statement piece.

Supercurve Mirror by Seletti

That is the key difference from a standard mirror with a lamp beside it. The light comes from the object itself, framing the glass in colour, so the mirror reads as a glowing shape on the wall even when nobody is looking into it. The design came out of a collaboration between Seletti and BBMDS.

In the Hallway

The hallway is the most natural home for a Supercurve. It is often the darkest part of a house, the place where you check your coat and hair on the way out, and the first thing guests see. A lit mirror solves all three at once.

  • Use it as a welcome light. Leave it on in the evening and the hall feels warm and lived-in rather than gloomy.
  • Hang it at eye level on the wall you face as you come through the door, so it greets you rather than hiding behind the door swing.
  • Keep the wall around it simple. A plain painted wall lets the colourful glow and curved outline do the talking; a busy wallpaper can compete with it.
  • Add a narrow console or shelf beneath it for keys and post. The glow will catch whatever you place there.

In the Bedroom

In a bedroom, a lit mirror is useful when you are getting ready and gentle when you are winding down. The warm glow from the frame is far softer than a ceiling light, which makes it a pleasant evening light for a dressing area.

Try hanging it above a chest of drawers or dressing table, where you would otherwise need a separate lamp. If you have a playful bedroom scheme, pick out a colour from the frame and repeat it in a cushion or throw so the mirror feels connected to the rest of the room. In a calmer, neutral bedroom it becomes the single pop of colour that gives the space personality.

In the Bathroom

A mirror is the heart of any bathroom, and a lit one can feel like a natural fit. Before you plan one in, think practically: bathrooms are steamy, splashy rooms, and any wall-mounted electrical item needs to suit its position. We would always recommend checking the product details for the room you have in mind and speaking to a qualified electrician about placement and wiring. Our team is happy to help with any questions about the Supercurve before you buy.

Where it does suit, a cloakroom or guest WC is a lovely spot. These small rooms are often windowless and a little forgettable, and a colourful lit mirror instantly gives them character. Keep the rest of the room simple and let the mirror carry the scheme.

Styling Tips

  • Treat it as art. Give it its own wall rather than crowding it with frames, so its curves stand out.
  • Layer the lighting. Use the mirror as an accent light alongside a main ceiling light, not as the only source in a room.
  • Play with colour. The frame is bold and colourful, so echo one of its tones in a nearby accessory, rug or painted skirting.
  • Think about what it reflects. A mirror doubles whatever sits opposite it, so position it to catch a window, a plant or a favourite piece of furniture.
  • Mix in other Seletti pieces. Its pop, artistic attitude sits happily with other playful designs from the same brand.
