Most people meet Fatboy through its Original beanbag, but the Dutch brand makes far more than one oversized cushion. This guide looks at the playful thinking behind Fatboy and walks through the rest of the range: cordless lamps, outdoor seating, a freestanding hammock and a parasol you open with a pull of a red cord.
The Fatboy way of thinking
Across the range, Fatboy pairs relaxation with a sense of humour. Even the product names wink at you: a dachshund-shaped bench called Attackle, a table lamp called Bellboy, a parasol called Stripesol. The other recurring idea is freedom of movement. Many lamps are cordless, several seats are easy to move, and outdoor pieces are built to stay out in the weather.
The brand also works with outside designers. Dutch designer duo Kranen/Gille, Nathalie Schellekens and Alex Bergman all appear in the range below. Start with our Fatboy seating if you want the beanbags, then read on for everything else.
Lighting you can carry anywhere
Fatboy lighting is where the brand's playful side and practical side meet. The Edison lamps are inspired by Thomas Edison, inventor of the light bulb, and come in very different sizes:
- The Edison the Petit is a cordless table lamp you can carry from room to room. Pull the little red Fatboy tag to switch it on; it is steplessly dimmable.
- The Edison the Grand is an oversized, super solid floor lamp that works inside or out, with three light intensity settings.
- The Bolleke Spherical Lamp, designed by Nathalie Schellekens, takes its cue from the knotted ties on sailing boats. Its silicone loop lets you hang it from a branch, a hook or a chair. It charges via USB-C, gives up to 24 hours of light on its lowest setting and is splash proof (IP55).
- The Bellboy Lamp is a cordless table lamp with a touch button on its cap, and its parts can be replaced if they ever fail.

Outdoor seating with a sense of humour
Fatboy's garden furniture is designed for long summer afternoons, and much of it shrugs off the weather:
- The Buggle-Up Outdoor Beanbag is an elongated beanbag lengthwise and a lounge sofa for two turned sideways. Two adjustable straps hold it in position, and it is made from UV, water and dirt-resistant Olefin.
- The BonBaron Outdoor brings deep foam comfort to the patio. Turn the oversized buttons on the back to adjust the backrest, and use the hidden handle to move it into sun or shade.
- The Attackle Garden Bench is a nod to balloon animals: a dachshund bench that seats two, with a water and dirt-repellent polyethylene body.
- The Concrete Seat, made in the Netherlands, is inspired by the concrete building block. Use it as a stool or a drinks table, or line several up as a bench. Fill it with water or sand if you want it to stay put.
Hammocks and parasols

Putting a Fatboy garden together
