Some Qeeboo pieces have become so recognisable that people know them before they know the brand. This guide walks through the famous ones – the Rabbit, Kong, Giraffe in Love, the Teddy lamps and the Ribbon Chair – with the designers behind them and tips on which version suits which room.
The Rabbit Chair by Stefano Giovannoni
Qeeboo was founded in Italy in 2016 by Stefano Giovannoni, and his Rabbit Chair is the piece most people picture when they hear the name. It is a sculpture you can actually use: lean back against the ears, sit the other way round, or ride it and rest your forearms on the ears. You may also recognise it from ITV's Love Island.
Made from tough, lightweight polyethylene, the original can be used indoors and out, so it works as well on a terrace as in a living room or playroom. A few ways to live with it:
- For children: the Rabbit Chair Baby is the same idea in a smaller size, designed with little people in mind.
- For a bit of shine: the Rabbit Chair Metallic is for indoor use only, so treat it as a living-room or hallway piece.
- For the garden after dark: the Rabbit Lamp Outdoor LED is a chair and a light in one, with a rechargeable battery, a touch switch and a progressive dimmer.
You can see every version together in our Qeeboo Rabbits collection.
Kong: the gorilla lamp
Kong is a gorilla holding a lamp on an adjustable arm, so you can direct the beam at different angles – which makes it more practical than it first looks. The Kong Lamp XS stands 53 cm high, is suitable for indoor use only and works as a table or floor lamp. It comes in seven colours.
For a real statement, the Kong XL is the floor-standing version. Give it space: a corner beside a sofa or an empty stretch of hallway lets the silhouette read clearly.
Giraffe in Love by Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba
Italian designer Marcantonio Raimondi Malerba created Giraffe in Love: a giraffe holding a classic Marie-Therese style chandelier in its mouth. The idea is irony and lightness – the giraffe is in love but does not know it yet, because her heart is far from her head.
It comes in more sizes than people expect, so choose by ceiling height and setting:
- The Giraffe In Love M Indoor stands 265 cm tall, ideal for a grand hallway, stairwell or double-height living room.
- The Giraffe In Love XL Outdoor is the size of a young giraffe, with a wind and water-resistant chandelier for outdoor settings.
- The Giraffe In Love Chandelier is a table-top version holding a miniature chandelier – the easy way into the design.
- The Giraffe In Love Wall Lamp comes with a metal support for hanging on the wall.

Teddy lamps and the Ribbon Chair
Stefano Giovannoni also designed Teddy Girl in the shape of a traditional teddy bear. The Teddy Girl Lamp Rechargeable is a wireless table lamp embracing a small luminous sphere, so it can move from a bedside to a bookshelf without hunting for a socket. Teddy Love XS takes its cue from Teddy Girl and Teddy Boy in a smaller size.
The Ribbon Chair is the softer side of Qeeboo: a ribbon forms the backrest, drawn with light, essential lines. It is for indoor use and comes in pink, white and black, with a mini version for children too. A pair either side of a small table makes a pretty breakfast corner.
Styling an icon
These pieces work best when they are not competing with each other. Pick one hero per room and keep what is around it calm, so the shape does the talking. Repeat its colour once elsewhere – a black Ribbon Chair with a black picture frame, say – and it will look chosen rather than dropped in. For something a little different, Studio Job's Fallen Chandelier M is a wireless rechargeable lamp for indoors and out, inspired by 19th-century Thonet curves.
