About Coordonne
Coordonne was founded in Barcelona in 1978 and remains a family-run company. Its creative team works with painters, illustrators and designers to produce patterns that draw on history, nature, travel and art, and its 40th anniversary collection marked four decades of that approach. The results range from watercolour-like landscapes to geometric abstractions and ornate florals, and they sit as comfortably in a modern flat as in a period home.

Roll Wallpapers: Damasks, Florals and Pattern
If you're papering a whole room or a feature wall in the usual way, start with Coordonne's roll designs. The Damaskus collection gives the classic damask a lively twist. Antwerp Damask mixes garlands with fantastic animals for a folk feel, on a non-woven roll 50cm wide and 10m long with a 19.8cm repeat and a half match. Aranjuez Damask features romantic bouquets that pay homage to the wall coverings of Felipe II's palace, with a 50cm straight-match repeat.
From the Sevilla collection, Azahar covers walls in natural branches that rise upwards like spring growth, with a 56cm repeat. For something more playful, Bank of Fish from the Naturae collection features fish and seahorses swimming among seaweed. Azilal Embroidery is a striped design inspired by intricate embroideries, a good choice for adding warmth and texture.
Murals: One Picture Across the Whole Wall

The Sevilla collection includes Alcazar, a landscaped design of exuberant gardens, and Abril, a floral design inspired by the violet galleries of flowers along Paseo Colón. Acquarium brings intricate marine illustrations in soft aquatic hues, and Asni Valley weaves iconic animals between nature and ornamental motifs in an earthy colour palette.
If you prefer abstract designs, Atmospheric Haze from the Geo collection is a texture design, also available as Atmospheric Haze Metallics. The 40th anniversary collection adds Architopie, a geometric design in pink/lilac and green, Algae, a texture in white/grey and green, and Beautiful Words, built from letters in pink/lilac and black.
How to Use Coordonne in Your Home
- Choose roll or mural by the wall. A repeating pattern suits a whole room or a run of walls; a mural works best on one uninterrupted wall where the whole image can be seen at once.
- Measure first. For murals, send accurate wall dimensions. For rolls, factor in the pattern repeat: a large repeat such as Azahar's 56cm usually means more waste than a small one like Antwerp Damask's.
- Let the wall lead. Pull a colour from the design into paint, cushions or curtains, and keep furniture simpler so the wall stays the focus.
- Think about light. A metallic design comes alive where it catches daylight or lamplight, while a soft texture such as Atmospheric Haze works well in a calmer bedroom.
- Use scale to change a room. A landscape mural can make a small dining room or hallway feel like a view rather than a wall.
